Call them as you wish: crochet wristers, wrist warmers, fingerless mittens or fingerless gloves!
They are comfy, stretchy and will keep you warm. And yes, they look like knit! :)
For these mitts I have used a variegated yarn, but the stitch pattern would look pretty in a solid color also... Maybe even prettier!
Bella Bricks Fingerless Mitts
The knit-look of these crochet fingerless gloves/mittens is obtained working half double crochet stitches into 3.rd loop at the back! If you have not tried this stitch before, don't worry, I have included tutorial links below.

D) hdc2tog: half double crochet two together/ half double crochet decrease.
Here you will decrease 2 half double crochet stitches working into the 3rd hidden loop of stitches.
NOTES:
The mitts are started at the cuff and worked in continuous spiral rounds without joining. The half double crochet stitches worked into the 3rd „hidden“ loop will create a stretchy, knit look crochet piece. The mitts have no seams, excepting the first round worked with hdc into the hidden loop, where the spiral begins.
INSTRUCTIONS:
(make two mitts)
The cuff:
With a 4 mm crochet hook start with 32 chainless foundation sc, join with sl st to top of first st.
Round 1: ch 1, *1 fphdc, 1 bphdc *, repeat around from * to *, join with sl st to top of first fphdc. (32 sts)
Round 2: ch 1, 1 hdc in each st around, join with sl st to top of first hdc. (32 sts)
Remove yarn from hook, insert hook from back to front under the 2 top loops of first st where you made the joining, pick yarn and bring it to the back of work.
Round 3: ch 1, working in the 3rd „hidden loop“ below the back loop of stitches, hdc in each st around. (You will notice a small gap, where the spiral begins, but it's ok.)
Don't join with sl st, continue to work in spiral, all the next rounds. Place a stitch marker into top loops of first st from the round, moving the st marker from round to round as you work.
Next rounds: Don't ch 1 anymore at the beginning of rounds and continue to work in spiral, hdc into the 3rd hidden loop of stitches, always placing st marker into top of first st. So each round the first st will be worked behind the st marker, then remove st marker and place it into the first stitch just made.
When you'll have 6 braidings (appro. 4 cm) change to hook size 3.5 mm and continue the same way, working hdc in spiral rounds in the hidden loops below the back loops. Work all the next rounds with hook size 3.5 mm.
When you have 17 - 18 braidings (approx. 12 cm) as in the picture above, start
Shaping the Gusset:
(continue to work in spiral hdc st into 3rd hidden loop of stitches)Round 1: work 2hdc behind the st marker; place the st marker into top loops of first hdc just made; work 2 hdc in next st; place a second st marker into top of second hdc just made; work 1 hdc in each of next 30 sts. ( 34 sts total)
For the next rounds you will increase the stitches between the stitch markers! Each new round you'll have 2 more stitches between the stitch markers.
Round 2: work 2 hdc behind the first st marker; place the st marker into top of first hdc just made, work 1 hdc in each st till next st marker, work 2 hdc behind second st marker; place st marker into top of second hdc just made, work 1 hdc in each of next 30 sts. (36 sts total)
Repeat as round 2) until you have 10 sts between the st markers. (42 sts total)
Next round: 1 hdc behind first stitch marker; ch4 relaxed, skip all 10 sts till second stitch marker, 1hdc behind second stitch marker, 1 hdc in each of next 30 sts. (32 sts + 4 chains)
Don't forget to move the first stitch marker as you crochet all the next rounds!
Next round: 1hdc in first st, 1 hdc in back bumps of each 4 chains, 1hdc in each of next 31 sts. (36 sts total)
Next round: 1hdc in each st around (36 sts)
Next round (decrease round): 1hdc in each of next 4 st, hdc2tog, 1hdc in each of next 16 sts, hdc2tog, 1hdc in each of next 12 sts. (34 sts)
Next round (decrease round): 1hdc in each of next 4 st, hdc2tog , 1hdc in each of next 15 sts, hdc2tog , 1hdc in each of next 11 sts. (32 sts)
Next 2 rounds: hdc in each st around. At the end of second round sl st to into 3rd hidden loop of first st. (32 sts)
Next round: ch 1, * 1fphdc, 1bphdc * repeat around. Don't join with sl st. Fasten off invisibly, evening out the edge, skipping one st to the left.
The Thumb:
Join yarn with slip slip at inside edge of thumb opening.Round 1: ch1, 1sc in same st; sc in each st around around working in the hidden loops of the hdc sts; in the corners insert hook into both loops of sts to avoid gaps. Join with sl st to first st. (18 sts)
Round 2 (work hdc the normal way, not into the 3rd loop) : ch1, hdc2tog, 1 hdc in each st till before the corner between thumb and hand, hdc2tog in the corner, 1hdc in each st till next corner, sl st to top of first st. (16 sts)
Round 3: ch1, working in the hidden loops, hdc around, sl st to top of first st. (16 sts)
Round 4: repeat as round 3, but don't join with sl st. Fasten off invisibly. Weave in the ends.
