Hi, I’m Kinga, and welcome to My Hobby Is Crochet — a place for practical, beautiful, and easy-to-follow crochet patterns you’ll love to make and wear.
I’m a crochet designer and blogger living in Germany with my husband and our three children. Crochet has been my creative passion since childhood, and I’ve been sharing free crochet patterns and tutorials online since 2012. All patterns on this site are written using US crochet terms and designed to be clear, beginner-friendly, and enjoyable for crocheters of all skill levels.
My crochet journey online began on February 19, 2012, when I created my Facebook page My Hobby Is Crochet to share my own projects, helpful crochet videos, and links to free patterns. What started as a small passion project quickly grew into a wonderful international community of makers who share a love for yarn, texture, and timeless design.
In April 2013, I launched this blog to create my own corner of the internet — a place where I could publish my original free crochet patterns, step-by-step tutorials, and real, wearable projects. My designs focus on modern, timeless designs with beautiful texture and everyday practicality.

My Crochet Community
Alongside the blog, I run a large and very active Facebook group called My Hobby Is Crochet Community , with over 95,000 members from around the world. It’s a friendly, supportive space where crocheters of all skill levels share finished projects, ask questions, exchange tips, and encourage one another.
I also manage the Myhobbyiscrochet Facebook Page , followed by over 470,000 crocheters worldwide, where I share new patterns, inspiration, and crochet resources.
Community has always been at the heart of what I do, and these platforms allow me to connect directly with readers and fellow makers every day.

DeleteHi Kinga. My name is Heather. I live in India and I have been crocheting for just a few years so I am not very good. I need some help regarding sizes for square / rectangular / round yokes for babies (0-3 mths / 3-6 mths / 6-9 mths / 9-12 mths). Almost all the patterns or videos that I see only give me how many chains to make. My problem is ....... if my wool and hook is not the same then the size comes out different. Is it possible for you to me a guide for measurements of (1) back neck width (2) shoulder (3) chest. Then no matter what hook or wool I use I can work out how many chains to make for the foundation row.
