You'll make the same steps as for the fpdc dec, the only difference is that you will insert the hook from back to front around the post of the stitches!

yo, pull a loop through; you have now 3 loops on hook;
yo, pull through first 2 loops on hook; you have now 2 loops on hook;
leaving the 2 loops on hook, yo, insert hook from the back to the front around the post of the next st,

yo, pull through first 2 loops on hook; you have now 2 loops on hook;
leaving the 2 loops on the hook, yo, insert hook from the back to the front around the post of the next st,

4)  Combined decrease 1 bpdc with 1 fpdc
Make the same steps as for the other combined decrease, just start with the back post, than the front post double crochet.

I have used this kind of decreases in my pattern Swirling Ribs Crochet Hat, worked from the bottom up and decreased at the the top.

  1. How about a tutorial for combined fphdc and bphdc used just like above for ribbing but instead of front and back post double crochet it's front and back post half double crochet. I've been searching Google, YouTube, facebook, and asking in groups for almost a month now and can't find how to do it. All I find is decreases for just fphdc or just bphdc or combined f&bpdc. nothing for f&bphdc.
