This crochet trim with sequins can be sewed on the neck opening of a top to give a touch of elegance and shine; or you can wear it as a necklace if you add ties.
Don't lose this pattern!
- 1 embroidery floss;
- 18 oval sequins
- a Sharp Crochet Hook (or you can use a tiny crochet hook with the head small enough to insert it into the hole of the sequins);
- sewing needle.
Stitches, Terms (US) and Abbreviations used:
sc: single crochet
sl st: slip stitch
Size:
The trim with 18 clover motifs measures 25 cm, stretching till 28 cm.
Pattern:
The pattern stitch is a multiple of 4+ 1 stitch to turn.
I have calculated the total number of the starting chains this way:
(18 clover motifs* 4) + 1 = 72+1= 73 chains to begin.
Supposing you want a larger trim with 25 clover motifs, your total number of beginning chains will be: (25*4)+1= 100+1= 101 chains
Note: Observe the star * after the first picture. Repeat all the steps from that star till next star at the end of the tutorial!
Begin with 73 chains (for 18 motifs).
1sc into 2nd chain from hook, *ch 5 and sl st into 3 rd chain from hook ( first clover leaf made).
ch3,
insert the hook into a sequin,
yarn around hook and pull through the sequin.
Rotate the sequin from left to right 180°, and place it right under your hook. You have now 2 loops on hook, slip stitch the first through the second one.
Holding the sequin with your fingers, ch 3, then slip stitch back into first chain made after the first clover leaf. The second leaf it's now finished.
Ch 3 and sl st into 3rd chain from hook. Third leaf made.
Ch 2, skip 3 ch of the starting chain base, 1sc into next chain*.
