Materials:
- 2 yarn: Premier Yarns Garden ; yarn weight fine (2) (if you are working loose, or if you would like to make a longer top/dress, buy 3 skeins of yarn)
- 3,5 mm crochet hook
- 1 button
- tapestry needle to sew in the ends
- sewing needle and thread to sew the button on
- scissors
Row 3: 1 hdc in each of next 9 sts, V-st into next ch1sp, (1 hdc into each of next 20 sts, V-st into next ch1sp) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 9 sts, ch1 and turn. (90 sts)
Row 4: 1 hdc in each of next 10 sts, V-st into next ch1sp, (1 hdc into each of next 22 sts, V-st into next st) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 10 sts, ch1 and turn. (98 sts)
Row 5: 1 hdc in each of next 11 sts, V-st into next ch1sp, (1 hdc into each of next 24 sts, V-st into next ch1sp) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 11 sts, ch1 and turn. (106 sts)
Row 6: 1 hdc in each of next 12 sts, V-st into next ch1sp, (1 hdc into each of next 26 sts, V-st into next ch1sp) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 12 sts, ch1 and turn. (114 sts)

Row 13: 1 hdc in each of next 19 sts, V-st into next ch1sp, (1 hdc into each of next 40 sts, V-st into next ch1sp) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 19 sts, ch1 and turn. (170 sts)
Row 14: 1 hdc in each of next 20 sts, V-st into next ch1sp, (1 hdc into each of next 42 sts V-st into next ch1sp) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 20 sts, ch1 and turn. (178 sts)
Shaping the Armholes; Start working in rounds
Round 1: 1 hdc in each of next 21 sts, 1hdc into the ch1sp, ch9 (for left underarm), sk 44 sts ( all the stitches till the next corner), 1 hdc into the ch1sp of next corner, 1 hdc into each of next 44 sts, 1 hdc into ch1sp of next corner, ch9 (for right underarm), sk 44 sts, 1 hdc into the ch1sp of next corner, 1 hdc in each of the next 21 sts, join with sl st into the top of first hdc at beginning of the row. (108 sts, inclusive the 9 chains for each underarm)
You'll have: 22 hdc left front side, 9 chains left underarm, 46 hdc back, 9 chains right underarm, 22 hdc right front side. (108 sts total)
Body part:
Round 2: ch2 (does not count as a stitch), 1dc in same st and 1dc in each of next 21sts, 1dc in back bumps of each of the 9 chains, 1dc in each of next 46 sts, 1 dc in back bumps of each of 9 chains, 1dc in each of next 22sts, join with slst into top of first dc. (108 dc)
Begin of the small shell pattern:
small shell of 3dc: (1dc, 1ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc) in same stitch
Round 3: ch1, 1sc in same stitch, 1ch, skip 2 dc, 1 small shell in next dc, ch1, skip 2 dc, *1sc in next dc, 1ch, skip 2 dc, 1 small shell in next dc, 1ch, skip 2 dc*, repeat around from * to * slst into top of first sc. (18 small shells)
Round 4: ch4 (count as the first dc and 1ch), (1dc, 1ch, 1dc) in same stitch as the ch4, 1ch, 1sc in top of the next small shell, 1 ch, *1 small shell in next sc, 1ch, 1sc in top of next shell, 1ch*, repeat around from * to *, slst in the 3rd. ch of the beginning ch4. (18 small shells)
Round 5: 1 slst to the top of the first small shell, 1ch, 1sc in same stitch, 1ch, 1 small shell in next sc, 1ch, *1sc into top of next small shell, 1ch, 1 small shell in next sc, 1ch*, repeat from * to * around, slst into top of first sc of the round. (18 small shells)

Begin of the big shell pattern
big shell of 5dc: (1dc, 1ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc) in same stitch
Round 15: 1 slst to top of first small shell, 1ch, 1sc into same st, 1 big shell in next sc, *1sc into top of next small shell, 1 big shell in next sc*, repeat from * to * around, slst into top of first sc of the round. (18 big shells)
Round 16: ch4 (count as the first dc and 1ch), (1dc, 1ch, 1dc, ch, 1dc, 1ch, 1dc) in same stitch as the ch4, *1sc into top of next big shell, 1 big shell into next sc *, repeat around from * to *, ending with 1sc into top of last big shell, slst in the 3rd. ch of the beginning ch4. (18 big shells)
Round 17: 2 slst to top of first big shell, 1ch, 1sc into same st, 1 big shell in next sc, *1sc into top of next big shell, 1 big shell in next sc*, repeat from * to * around, slst into top of first sc of the round. (18 big shells)
Rounds 18 - 26: repeat as rounds 16-17.
The Bottom Edging: ch1, work 1sl st into top of each st and 1ch for each ch1 space. (So you will work 1ch, 1slst around.)
Cut yarn. Fasten off invisibly.
The edging for the yoke split and the button hole:
Join yarn with slst in the top left hand corner of the split mid front and continue down along split with 1sc around the bar of the first hdc of each row, 1 sc dec at the V base of the split, continue with sc on the front right hand side from bottom till middle, chain 4 (or as many chains needed to fit your button size), continue with sc till the top. Cut yarn. Fasten off.

Notes:
The top is crocheted top down, beginning at the middle front. The split should be mid front.

Chain 75 relaxed, not tight.
Row 1: Working into the back bumps behind the chain, make 1sc into 2nd ch from hook and 1sc in each ch across, ch1 and turn. (74 sc)
Row 2: 1 hdc in each of next 8 sts, V-st into next st, (1 hdc into each of next 18 sts, V-st into next st) x 3 times, 1 hdc into each of next 8 sts, ch1 and turn. (82 sts)
