The area we live in is beautiful, full of mountains, lakes and amazing hiking trails that we love to take advantage of!
The weather here, though, can be kind of unpredictable. It's even been known to snow in the middle of summer! So we've learned to be prepared for cold weather when we're out hiking or camping.

Our youngest just turned one, and since she's usually napping in a baby carrier while we're out hiking, it's not very easy to put warmer clothes on her without waking her up. So I decided to make some little legwarmers that I could just slip on her little legs to give a little extra warmth without waking her up.

I also made a matching headband with the leftover yarn, you can find the free pattern here:  Simple Shells Toddler Headband.

Sizing: 8 inches in diameter on top, 9.5 on bottom, and 6 inches long. This should fit most babies from about 9 months to 3 years old. If you would like to size up, adding another shell stitch (by adding in multiples of 7) will gain you approximately 1.5 inches on top and 2 inches on the bottom. To add length, simply repeat the last two rounds rounds which will add about 1.5 inches.
