MATERIALS:
- Worsted weight yarn, approx. 100 yards
- 6 mm crochet hook (US J 10)
- Yarn needle


INSTRUCTIONS: Works flat from back to front.
1. Chain 35, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook, and each stitch of the chain.

2. Chain 1 and turn, working in the back side of the stitch only, single crochet in each stitch across the row.

3. Repeat step 2 for 6 more rows.

4. Chain 1 and turn, still working in the back side of the stitch, single crochet in the next 23 stitches, leaving the remaining stitches not worked.

5. Chain 1 and turn, working in the 2 loops of the stitch, single crochet in the next 11 stitches.

6. Repeat step 5 for 2 rows.

7. Chain 1 and turn, work across the row, making 2 single
crochet decrease across the row, (reducing to 6 stitches). (To make a sc decrease, insert hook into the next stitch front to back, come back out through the next stitch back to front, complete the single crochet.)

8. Repeat step 7, fasten off with approx. a 10 inch long yarn end, thread it into a needle, fold the work in half, and sew across the top of the foot and the leg. (See photo below.)

9. Thread the beginning yarn end into a needle, and sew the back seam of the bootie.

ANKLE STRAP:
Work with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn.
Chain 4, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook, and each stitch of the chain.
Chain 1 and turn, single crochet across the row, repeat from * for 16 rows, or until the strap measures approx. 6.5 inches. Fasten off.
Pass 2 strands of yarn through each end, and tie around the ankle. If desired, tack the strap in place on the sides and back with same color yarn as the strap.

FLOWER:
Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.
Chain 1, *single crochet in the ring, 2 double crochet in the ring.
Repeat from * to make a total of 5 petals in the ring, slip stitch to join in the 1st single
crochet, fasten off. Sew a button in the center, and sew onto the bootie.


LACES DETAIL:
Pass shoe laces, or 2 stands of yarn through the front stitches.
