Free Crochet Pattern: "Lava Fox" C2C Square - Wildlife Graphghan CAL Block 1

”Lava Fox” C2C Square - Wildlife Graphghan

NOTES:

  1. You will work the C2C square on the diagonal starting from bottom right corner to top left.
  2. The uneven rows will be on the right side of work, while the even rows on the wrong side of work.
  3. The pattern includes row written row by row instructions for color counts follow with color pixel graph below.
  4. The Lava Fox C2C Pattern is worked using the C2C in hdc (half double crochet), that makes for a smaller C2C with less holes then the C2C worked with the double crochet.

GAUGE: 6 C2C tiles = 10 x 10 cm (4 inches x 4 inches)

SIZE: the square is 25 tiles x 25 tiles and measures 16 inches X 16 inches (40 cm x 40 cm)

SUPPLIES:
- Red Heart Super Saver ( yarn weight: Medium 4) in 6 colors:

  • Teal approx. 126 yds (70 g)
  • White approx. 18 yds (10 g)
  • Pumpkin approx. 36 yds (20 g)
  • Carrot approx. 45 yds (25 g)
  • Coffee approx. 9 yds (5 g)
  • Black approx. 9 yds (5 g)
- 5.5 mm crochet hook (shown here Furls Wooden Hook, Cocobolo)
- yarn needle
- Scissors

ABBREVIATIONS:
- RS: right side
- WS: wrong side

Color abbreviations:
t= teal (this is the background color - you can replace it with any contrasting color of your choice)
w= white
bl= black
o= orange (Pumpkin)
c= carrot
br= brown (Coffee)

Direction: From bottom/right to top/left
Work: Alternating, start from right to left

    1. Hi Anne, you will start reading the graph from the bottom left corner and work on the diagonal until you reach the top right corner. There are video tutorials on YouTube. Just search for "How to Crochet a Graphgan with C2C Stitch (Left Handed)".

  3. I have never done a grafgan of any kind when it says the t3 oro4 orb5 is this the number of block's like t3 dose that mean do 3 blocks that color

  5. I've done several C2Cs, but have not used one for graphghans. I understand the chart and how to make each block, but, I don't see how many chains to make to begin each row. Some directions call for 5 chains, others, 6 chains. So, how many for this, and how many half dbls in each block, subsequently? Thank you. ))
