Free Crochet Pattern: Koala C2C Square - Wildlife Graphghan CAL, Block 19

An Australian animal could not miss from our Wildlife Graphghan, right? And what’s cuter than a koala?

So here it is: the Koala C2C Square, block 19 of the Wildlife Graphghan Crochet-along, happening right here, on My Hobby is Crochet blog!

Just one more c2c animal block and then we start joining the squares together! Yaaayy!

My 4 year old little girl was so excited about this square! While I was crocheting it, she asked me: “Mommy, can I hug your Koala? It is sooo cute! I think this is my favorite one!” She melted my heart! :)

The Koala C2C Square it's a free crochet pattern that includes written row by row instructions for color counts follow with color pixel graph at the end.

GAUGE: 6 C2C tiles = 10 x 10 cm (4 inches x 4 inches)

SIZE: the square is 25 tiles x 25 tiles and approx. measures approx. 15 inches X 15 inches (38 cm x 38 cm)

So, let’s see what you will need to crochet this cute koala c2c block!

SUPPLIES used:

• yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (yarn weight: Medium 4) in 8 colors:
1. Light Blue for the background approx. 153.1 yds (140 m)
2. Soft White approx. 42.1 yds (38.5 m)
3. Oatmeal approx. 39.91 yds (36.5 m)
4. Aran approx. 7.65 yds (7 m)
5. Baby Pink approx. 1.09 yds (1 m)
6. Dusty Gray: approx. 55.22 yds (50.5 m)
7. Gray Heather approx. 18.59 yds (17 m)
8. Black approx. 24.06 yds (22 m)
• 5.5 mm crochet hook (I have used Furls Wooden Hook, Cocobolo)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

NOTES:
1. You will use the C2C with the hdc, working the square on the diagonal starting from bottom right corner to top left.

2. The even rows will be worked on the right side of work.

3. The uneven rows will be on the wrong side of work.

4. On the graphic you will read the even rows from top to bottom ↙ and the uneven rows from bottom to top ↗!

5. The first row with color changes (Row 11) it's an uneven row, so you will be working on the wrong side of work! That means that you will have to place the yarn strands to the front of your work!

6. For the even rows (right side) you will place the yarns to the back of the work!
