I have made this scarf at my husband's request. He chose the colors and wanted a basic scarf that is not too long, not too wide and has no holes. He preferred it leaving it without fringe, but you can add some, if you like.
This scarf is crocheted using 2 different yarns held together: one strand of a super fine wool with long color changes and one strand of a light and soft mohair blend. Working with crochet hook size 5.5 mm, the result is a fluffy and warm scarf that is also feather light (scarf total weight: 150 g.)
I really love how the two yarns worked together, how the self striping yarn changed colors, making unique stripes.
You can mix and match the colors you like. The solid mohair mix yarn will be the one that will give the dominant color.
SIZE:
The scarf is 173 cm long x 15 cm wide (approx. 68.11 inches x 6 inches) You can customize the length and width of the scarf to your own liking, but please keep in mind that you will need more/less yarn as indicated in the pattern. It is very easy to adjust the size of the scarf:
- For a longer scarf, work the starting foundations single crochet longer, until you reach the desired length. Or work fewer foundations sc for a shorter scarf!
- To change the width of the scarf: - work less rows for a narrower scarf or - work more rows for a wider scarf.
