Let’s crochet a beautiful C2C Forest Animals Blanket using the Join as You Go Method (JAYG)!
Instead of working individual animal blocks that are sewn together in the final step, we are going to gradually build the blocks with a continuous join as you go method.
This JAYG corner to corner crochet animal blanket features 9 lovely woodland animals and a name panel, that you can customize with your desired name.

(JAYG) C2C Forest Animals Blanket CAL | General Informations
I have designed this blanket for my 9 year old little girl, Elisa. Together we made a list with the animals she wanted to be included in her blanket: rabbit, deer, hedgehog, racoon, lynx, wolf, owl, fox and bear.
Some of my animal designs are brand new, some of them were already published before in my Wildlife Graphghan Series, but changed for the join as you go method and some of the animals are new versions of the existing ones.In the past I made my Wildlife Graphghan design by working separate c2c animal blocks and sewing them together in the end! But one thing I haven't enjoyed was to sew the animal blocks together! So I thought about a fun way to work this blanket as a continuous join as you go c2c animal blanket!
The advantage of this Continuous JAYG C2C Method is that you still make one animal at the time (having less color changes), but the blanket will look as if it’s worked all in one piece, especially if you choose one single color for the background! You can surely make each block in a different color background if you prefer! And when you finish the last panel, you only need to work an edging around your blanket and you are done!! No more sewing blocks together!! Yeeyy!!
Make sure to weave in the ends each animal block right after finishing it. Otherwise it becomes very overwhelming to weave everything at the end. (It took me about 30-40 minutes for each animal block to weave the ends in!)
Although I’m using the Join As You Go Method, if you prefer, you can still work separate individual animal blocks and join them at the end in the traditional way, either by sewing them together or slip stitching them!
But I really recommend you to try this new method of JAYG C2C Animal Blocks! You will get hooked! I am beyond excited to introduce it to you! I can finally reveal the concept I have been working on for several months!

BLANKET CONSTRUCTION
The blanket is started at the right bottom corner with the first animal block/square (here, the Rabbit C2C Square). Every animal block is started into it's own right bottom corner and worked on the diagonal to top left! Once the first animal block is completed, the second animal block will be builded into the left side the left of the first one using the join as you go method and following the graph of the 2nd animal block, here the Deer C2C Square. Once the Deer is completed, continue with the 3rd animal block building it into the left side of the 2nd one using the Join-as-you-go method. The 3 animals will make the bottom panel of the blanket. Using the join-as you go method, start the 2nd panel with the 4th animal block joining it as you go with the top side of the 1st animal block, then continue with the 5th animal joining it as you with the left side of the 4th one and on top of the 2nd one; then work the 6th animal, YAYG with the left side of 5th animal and the top of the 3rd one! After completing the second panel, work the 3rd panel, with animals no. 7-9 in the same manner, from right to left, then the 4th panel, the name panel (or if you prefer addition animal blocks).
